store in the Continental U.S. by May 16, 2006 (while supplies last) look
inside the package to see if your package contains an official Instant Win
Ticket hidden inside the battery compartment. If your package contains an
Instant Win Ticket, you are a winner, subject to verification. If there is no
Instant Win Ticket inside the package, you have not won. For a chance to win
without a purchase, enter online at staples.com by completing the electronic
entry form. Online entries must be received by Tuesday, May 16, 2006 by 11:59
pm (EDT). Any mass entries or entries
generated by a script, macro or automated devices will be disqualified. Entry
may also be made by mailing a postcard on which you have hand-printed your
first and last name, complete address and telephone number to: “Easy Life
Sweepstakes”, P.O. Box 2242, Framingham, MA 01703-2242. Mailed entries must be
postmarked by 5/16/06 and received by 5/23/06. No mechanically reproduced or
photocopied mail-in entries allowed. LIMIT: One online entry per person and/or per email
address per day. There is no limit to the number of mail-in entries per day,
however each mail-in entry must be mailed in a separate postmarked envelope.
If you enter online or by mail, you will only be contacted if you are selected
to receive an Instant Win Ticket. Odds of winning are the same for all methods
of entry as set forth in section 3 below.

2006 at 12:01 am (EST) and ends
on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 11:59 pm (EST) (the “Promotion Period”
). No responsibility is assumed by Staples the
Office Superstore, LLC, Inc. “Sponsor”
or COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES LLC, for lost, late,
misdirected, illegible, incomplete, stolen, inaccurate or postage-due entries,
or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may
occur. Online entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of
the email address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account
holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email
address by an Internet Access provider, on-line service provider, or other
organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is
responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the
submitted email address. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will
not be returned to entrant.
Each verified winner may select one (1) of the following prizes:
Prize #1: Weekly
Grocery and Dry Cleaning Allowance ($175/week) for one year plus
a new refrigerator and freezer (awarded in the form of a $900 gift card from a
retail store near the winner’s home).

The Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of each prize is $10,000. The
approximate odds of winning a prize is 1 in 14,100.
TOTAL ARV OF ALL PRIZES: $100,000.
Staples will also contribute $1,000 to a Boys & Girls Club located
near each winner’s home address, as determined by Staples in its
sole discretion.

Prize Notes: All prize elements to be awarded will be selected by the Sponsor or its designated agent.
Sponsor reserves the right to make substitutions of equal or greater value as
necessary, due to circumstances beyond its control. Return of any prize/prize
notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and the selection
of an alternate winner. No substitution or transfer of prize or cash equivalent
is permitted except by Sponsor. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a
prize (if any) are subject to the manufacturer’s terms thereof, and winners
agree to look solely to such manufacturer for any warranty and/or guarantee. Each
prize package listed above will expire one year from the date of being awarded
or on August 31, 2007, whichever comes first. Any portion of an awarded prize
that remains unclaimed or expires will become void.
HOW TO VERIFY AND REDEEM AN INSTANT WIN TICKET FOUND INSIDE A STAPLES “Easy Button” PACKAGE:
You are not a winner until your Instant Win Ticket has been verified by the Staples Redemption
Center and you have complied with all terms of these Official Rules. DO NOT
GIVE YOUR WINNING TICKET TO ANY STAPLES EMPLOYEE. Employees are not authorized
to redeem prizes. TO REDEEM: In pen, sign your name on the front of the
Instant Win Ticket. On a separate piece of paper, clearly print your name,
complete address, full birth date and telephone number and mail with your
original, signed Instant Win Ticket to the Staples Redemption Center address
listed below.
IMPORTANT:
Please retain a photocopy, for your records, of any Instant Win Ticket
submission mailed to the Redemption Center address for verification. It is
recommended that you send potential winning game piece via Registered or
Certified Mail, Insured, Return Receipt Requested. Proof of mailing is
not proof of receipt.

Potential winners will have ten (10) days from receipt of notification to claim their
prize by completing, signing and returning the Affidavit of Eligibility,
Liability Release and, where lawful, Publicity Release forms and W-9
request for Taxpayer’s Identification
Number. If a selected potential winner fails to comply with these Official Rules,
cannot be located or reached, has provided an incorrect email or mailing address,
is determined to be
ineligible or declines or fails to claim the prize for any reason, or if the prize
notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, such entrant will forfeit
his or her opportunity to
receive a prize and an alternate winner will be selected. Acceptance of a prize
constitutes permission for Sponsor and Sponsor’s respective advertising and
promotion agencies
and COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES (“Promotion Entities”) to use winner’s name,
voice and likeness, along with his or her address (city and state) and the
right to use and publish his or her “entries”, proper name and any
statements made or attributed to such
winner (collectively, the “Attributes”) in any and all media, unless prohibited by law.
This will include but is not limited to media now known or hereafter devised, without
notice, review or approval,
in perpetuity and throughout the universe for advertising and promotional
purposes in connection with the Sweepstakes without further compensation, and
releases Promotion Entities from all claims arising out of the use of such
Attributes.
If any prizes from the prize pool remain unclaimed,
a random drawing will be conducted to award remaining prizes. To enter the
Second-Chance Drawing: write your name, complete address, and telephone number
on a post card and mail it to: “Staples Easy Lifesm Sweepstakes Second Chance
Drawing,” P.O. Box 2242, Framingham, MA 01703-2242. All entries must be received
by May 23, 2006. A random drawing (if required) from all eligible entries
received will be held on or about June 1, 2006. Odds of winning depend on the
number of prizes remaining unclaimed (if any) and the number of eligible
entries received. All other rules and eligibility requirements set forth
herein apply to Second-Chance Drawing.
By participating in
this promotion, the participant agrees to assume all responsibility for the
submission of potential winning tickets to the Staples Redemption Center.
Prizes will not be awarded if potential winning game tickets are submitted in a
manner inconsistent with the instructions contained in these Official Rules.
All Instant Win Tickets, mail-in entries and online entries are subject to
verification by COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES, LLC (“Judges”), an independent judging organization whose
decisions are final and legally binding as they pertain to this Sweepstakes.
Instant Win Tickets are automatically null and void and will be rejected if
prize claim submissions are lost, stolen, late, mutilated, misdirected,
illegible, incomplete, photocopied or mechanically reproduced, do not contain
printer’s markings or have been tampered with in any way. Prize claimant may
wish to obtain mail insurance. Sweepstakes materials submitted become the
property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. By participating, the
participant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. Prizes
will be awarded only if participants comply with these Official Rules.
Participant waives the right to assert as a cost of winning a prize any and
all costs of redemption or travel to redeem said prize, and any liability which
might arise from redeeming, or seeking to redeem, or from use, misuse,
acceptance or possession of said prize or from participation in prize-related
activities. All applicable federal, state and local taxes on all prizes are
the sole responsibility of prizewinner. By accepting prize, the potential
winner agrees to release the Sponsor, COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES and their
respective directors, officers and employees, affiliates, parent companies,
subsidiaries, distributors and agents, including but not limited to
advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability of any kind
arising from or in connection with any prize.
Participation
open only to legal residents of the Continental U.S. including the District of
Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. The following are NOT
eligible to participate or win prizes: Employees of Sponsor, COHEN-FRIEDBERG
ASSOCIATES, and respective affiliates and subsidiaries, participating
retail stores, its advertising and promotion agencies, and their respective
employees, individuals engaged in the development, production or distribution
of materials for this Sweepstakes; persons who are immediate family of,
dependents of (as defined by IRS regulations) or who live in the same
household as any person in any of the above categories. “Easy Button” packages
purchased from SBA and SNA containing an Instant Win Ticket will be awarded to
the company that ordered the “Easy Button.”
By entering into the Sweepstakes, each entrant
agrees to Sponsor’s use of his or her personal information as described in the
web site’s privacy policy and these Official Rules. In the event of any
discrepancy between the privacy policy and these Official Rules, these Official
Rules shall control and govern.
Instant Win Tickets are
null and void and will be rejected if not obtained through authorized
legitimate channels; or if illegible, mutilated, torn, altered, counterfeit,
photocopied, mechanically reproduced, tampered with in any way, miscut, blank
or partially blank or misregistered, or if they contain typographical, mechanical,
printing, production or other errors; or if Instant Win Ticket piece fails any
validation test. Antifraud detection devices will be used to verify winners.
No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded. In the event the
number of winning submissions received is greater than the number of prizes
provided for in these Official Rules, only the number of prizes indicated will
be awarded based on a random drawing of all such submissions received at that
prize level. The Sponsor also explicitly reserves the right to correct any and
all errors, including but not limited to printing errors, so as to make the
Sweepstakes materials conform to the rules of the Sweepstakes.
Potential winner(s) may be required to provide the
Judges with proof that the potential winner(s) is the authorized account holder
of the email address associated with the potentially winning entry.
Verification of prize claims and conduct of all drawings are under supervision
of the Judges. Sponsor and COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES are not responsible for
any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines,
computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, or software,
failure of any email or entry to be received or sent by Sponsor or
COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES, on account of technical problems or traffic
congestion on the Internet or at any web site or by human error which may occur
in the ability to enter a participant’s entry, or any combination thereof, or
otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s
computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any
materials in the promotion. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect
of this promotion, as solely determined by the Judges, will be disqualified.
If disqualified for any of the above abuses, Sponsor and COHEN-FRIEDBERG
ASSOCIATES reserve the right to terminate entrant’s eligibility to participate
in the Sweepstakes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY
DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY
BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE,
SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST
EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the
event any portion of Internet Sweepstakes is compromised by virus, bugs,
nonauthorized human intervention, fraud, technical failure or other causes
beyond the control of the Sponsor or COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES, which in the
sole opinion of COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES, corrupts or impairs the
administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the
Sweepstakes, Sponsor and COHEN-FRIEDBERG ASSOCIATES reserve the right in their
sole discretion to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the Internet portion of
the Sweepstakes, but will continue with the free, mail-in means of entry
portion.
All taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
This Promotion is conducted in English (which will
be given its everyday ordinary meaning) and any and all disputes will be
resolved in the appropriate courts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the
United States, exclusively, and subject to the laws of the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts. Should there be a conflict between the laws of the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of
the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
